Collaborative Research Post at The University of 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· supports the Creative Health GM Place Partnership
Dr Hannah Waterson takes post as Research Associate – Knowledge Mobilisation in July 2025, working with Creative Health Greater 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Place Partnership and Civic University Board (CUB).
We are pleased to announce that Dr Hannah Waterson will be starting her position as Research Associate – Knowledge Mobilisation in July 2025. This 27-month post is made possible by the Arts Council England (ACE) funded Creative Health Greater 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Place Partnership and Civic University Board (CUB).
The three-year place partnership aims to create lasting ways for creativity and culture to be at the heart of communities’ health and wellbeing. This builds on the growing recognition that engaging with creativity and culture helps us to lead longer, healthier, happier lives - a relationship that is increasingly referred to as ‘creative health’.
This role will play a central role in developing a framework to understand how the Creative Health GM Place Partnership embeds creative health sustainably across the system.
The post will work between the Greater 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Combined Authority Integrated Care Partnership (GMCA ICP), the Population Health team at NHS Greater 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· and The University of 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·. Dr Waterson will be hosted by Dr Simon Parry at the University of 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· and supported by an advisory group including colleagues from the Royal Northern College of Music, 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Metropolitan University and University of Salford.
Dr Hannah Waterson has a background in Public Health and supported the development of an Arts in Public Health module at The University of 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·, before leading on research and policy at the National Centre for Creative Health.
We are pleased to work with the GMCA, Greater 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· NHS and the Civic University Board to support this key research position. This collaborative role will play an important part in establishing and evaluating the evidence base for the work being done by the Creative Health Greater 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Place Partnership.
We are delighted that our partnership with the Higher Education Sector in Greater 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· through the Civic University Board has resulted in this crucial role. The position will be an important part of consolidating our role as world leaders in creative health practice and research by developing our evidence base and exploring new ways for local government and academia to work together across our city region as part of the Creative Health Greater 99¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ· Place Partnership.
